Committing to a Statement of Solidarity
|
We all share a responsibility to speak out against violence, particularly when the perpetrators claim to commit it in our name. Christians are called to speak out against Islamophobia and to declare ourselves clearly and publicly on the side of peace and healing. Alone we can do little; linked with members of our congregations and larger networks we can have a major impact.

"We stand in solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters, affirming our common heritage as spiritual descendants of Abraham. We condemn hostile and intolerant actions done in the name of religion or directed at human beings because of their faith. We pledge ourselves to reach out in friendship, not fear, and to work together toward the Beloved Community. We ask God’s blessing and guidance on our way." |
